“Behind every dancer who believes in themselves, is a teacher who believed in them first”
Ms. Kelly grew up as a competitive dancer and began teaching in her teens while continuing to train under various teachers and well-known choreographers. In university she discovered her enthusiasm for sharing her passion and love for dance and began her own dance school in the Annapolis Valley in 2000. She is most recognized for her positive and upbeat teaching style focusing on clean and safe technique. Her students have grown tremendously over the years and she couldn’t be more proud. Many have been accepted and attended various Professional Summer Dance Programs and Full time Dance / Performance Programs at Colleges and Universities.
She continues her own dance education at every opportunity believing “the more I can learn the more I can teach”. A few of her certifications and training include ADAPT Teacher Certified, BATD Membership Stage Division, ADA Junior and Intermediate levels, Acro Dance Adjudicator Certificate, CDTA Associate Jazz, Tap and Acro as well as completing the teacher training program through the American Tap Dance Institute. She was a board member with Dance Nova Scotia for many years and on the adjudication staff with Champions Dance.
Teaching brings her joy and her goal is to instill a love and a passion for dance in the next generation of dancers …… as they say “life is better when you dance”.
FUN FACT – she tap danced on Breakfast Television twice, the Nova Scotia International Tattoo for two years AND on CBC radio.
