Alex Sellers

Alex is originally from Toronto, Ontario where she did the majority of her training at Sean Boutilier Academy of Dance. While there she had the opportunity to study under Sean Boutilier, Glenn Gilmour, Sheona Bell, and Jane Wooding. She also had the opportunity to work with several very talented choreographers including Michelle Freiburger, Meagan McGrath, and Shannon Mather. During her time at Sean Boutilier, Alex was a valuable member of their competitive team, performing in various styles including Jazz, contemporary, ballet, tap, and acro and winning numerous awards and honours. Alex continues to expand her dance experience and knowledge by taking workshops and master classes in New York and Los Angeles with noted teachers such as Mia Michaels, Teddy Forance, Tovaris Wilson, and Malaya. Alex also attended Dalhousie University and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in International Development Studies and Political Science. While at Dalhousie, she was a member of the Dal Dance Society as well as the Black and Gold Dance Team, which she also choreographed for. She currently lives in Halifax and is passionate about sharing her knowledge and creativity with young dancers.
